Vee Rovers Division 3 Champions TSDL 2014

___________________

Sunday March 2nd 2014 was a red letter day for the club as Vee Rovers gained promotion to the TS&DL Second Division in a hard fought encounter with Ballyneale at Scart Park.

The away side started much sharper and Vee Rovers found themselves two goals down after twenty five minutes. However Ronan Dwyer showed great leadership and pulled a goal back for the Vee on forty minutes. Vee Rovers began to dominate matters on the turn-over but it looked like it might not be their day as they began to squander chances. Kevin Murray drew Rovers level on sixty five minutes and Ronan Dwyer completed his hat-trick by scoring two more, to give a 4-2 victory and passage to the Second Division next season. With one game to go, Vee Rovers can still be promoted as champions, so it’s all to play for in that final game.

Vee Rovers Results – 2nd Weekend December 2013

The under 10s were at home to St Kevins/Two Mile Borris on Sunday. On a crisp morning this proved to be a very even contest with good skills shown all around. The spoils were shared in a 1-1 draw with Dylan Keating catching the eye for the home-side.

The under 14s were away to St Michaels in the League. The home side proved much too strong and ran out easy winners. There will be better days for this young Rovers side.

The Juniors were away to St Kierans in a vital top of the table league tie at Duneske in Cahir. Having enjoyed the majority of possession the teams reached half-time scoreless. Eoin Flynn gave Rovers the lead after 57minutes and soon afterwards Martin Grant doubled this lead. St Kierans pulled a goal back with twenty minutes to go with a wonder strike, but a rare headed goal from Vee Rovers stalwart Warren O Brien ensured all three points went to Clogheen.

The win keeps Vee Rovers well in contention at the top of the table:
