Irish Walks July 2013
July is a month for walking in Ireland. The weather is generally conducive to the activity (although not always) and there are many festivals around the country which means visiting is generally worthwhile.
Irish Walks July 2013 – St. Declan’s Way
From July 24th to 28th Knockmealdown Active will host the first organised full length walk of St. Declan’s Way from Cashel Co. Tipperary to Ardmore, Co. Waterford. The walk will stop off in Cahir, Ardfinnan, Lismore and Aglish along the way, finishing in Ardmore at the end of the Ardmore Pattern Festival on Sunday July 28th.
It will appeal to walking enthusiasts but also to visitors who have a connection with one of the many towns and villages along the route. There is a strong traditional link between St. Declan and emigrants who have left West Waterford in particular. Walkers will have the option of joining the walk for portions of the route if they wish.
