Vee Rovers was founded in 1981 by Michael Ryan, Thomas Quirke, and Patsy McGrath. The club’s first ever challenge game was against Merck, Sharp and Dohme, and the first league match was against Knocklong in the Tipperary Southern and District League (although the Knocklong club is actually in Limerick, like Galbally it plays in the TSDL).

Vee Rovers Pitch

As with many small parish soccer clubs, finding a permanent home was somewhat of an issue in the club’s formative years. The club eventually settled into its current home at Scart Park and has now been resident there for many years. The club played its first number of years at Tobin Park, Carrigmore, Clogheen, before moving on to Mill Field in Clogheen (Clogheen side of the Hospital grounds) before moving on to its current home at Scart Park

The pitch can be found by taking the second turn on the right on Ballyporeen Road (Shanrahan Crossroads), then first right turn which is about 1Km further on. Travel past the first left turn and you will find the pitch on the left hand side. The pitch is signposted from Shanrahan Crossroads on match days.
