St. Mary’s Church, Clogheen – 150th Anniversary 2014

St. Mary’s Church Clogheen Dates for your Diary in 2014.

Sunday 20th April: Dawn mass at the altar at the upper Vee car park at 6am. Normal Easter Sunday morning, 11am mass WILL still go ahead in St. Mary’s church.

Sunday 1st June: 11am mass will take place in the Reigh Famine Cemetery to acknowledge past generations in this 150th anniversary year of the parish church. There will be NO mass in St. Mary’s church on this Sunday. The usual Saturday vigil mass at 6pm will be celebrated.

Saturday 14th June: at 6pm mass will be the church book launch.Sunday 22nd June, 11am mass in St. Mary’s church with Corpus Christi procession to take place around Lios Mhuire straight after mass. Sunday 3rd August, 11am Cemetery mass will take place in Shanrahan. There will be NO in St. Mary’s church on this Sunday. The usual Saturday vigil mass will be celebrated at 6m.

February 1st 2014 marked the beginning of the celebrations of the 150th anniversary of St. Mary’s Church in Clogheen.

On this date the parish also acknowledged St. Bridgid’s Day with celebration of the Saturday evening (Feb. 1st) Mass at 6pm.

The children of St Mary’s NS presented  St. Bridgid’s Crosses to the community gathered for the evening Mass.

On Sunday, February 2nd, Banna  Chluain Meala helped honour the anniversary year within a performance at the 11 o clock Sunday Mass.
